Fiocchi's little kitchen

Summer is quickly fading, making way for Fall with all of its rain, wind and hunting seasons.  Now is a great time to get the jump on the calendar and plan ahead for the next couple of seasons.

Greeks and Romans regarded their Celtic neighbours as barbarians. Sadly for the Celts, their history was written by their conquerors. Archaeology, however, has uncovered evidence of a sophisticated society with a noble ancestry that included fierce warriors and hunters.

I don't think its excessive hyperbole to say that the days we're in now are among the most important for gun rights that America has seen in the last 75 years.  While Defense Distributed's recent victorious court settlement with the State Department has rendered gun control null and void in a guerrilla sort of fashion, there are still many legal threats to the 2nd Amendment way of life.

You know you’re going to have a great day on the sporting clays range when the sky is a powder blue with cotton-candy clouds, the cool temperature is tip-toeing into warm, shooters are all smiling and American flags dot the course like mountain flowers in the Colorado Rockies. And it’s the 4th of July!

Hunts abound in great works of Roman literature. In his epic masterpiece, Metamorphoses, Ovid (43 BCE – 17 CE,) retold myths and legends of transformations: a hunter turned into a stag, to be brought down by his own hounds; nymphs transformed into trees or birds to escape unwelcome suitors; or a god taking the form of another creature to deceive his wife.
